چکیده

Abstract The low temperature properties of a wide range many-fermion systems spanning metals, quantum gases and liquids to nuclear matter are well understood within the framework Landau’s theory Fermi liquids. low-energy physics these is governed by interacting fermionic quasiparticles with momenta energies near surface in momentum space. Nonequilibrium described kinetic equation for distribution function proposed Landau. Quasiparticle interactions other quasiparticles, phonons or impurities lead internal forces acting on nonequilibrium as collision processes that ultimately limit transport mass, heat, charge magnetization, coherence times quasiparticles. For close second order phase transition, e.g. undergo superfluid incipient Cooper pairs - long-lived fluctuations ordered provide new channel scattering corrections We develop quasiparticle vicinity BCS-type transition starting from Keldysh’s field non-equilibrium, strongly fermions. leading liquid non-equilibrium instability arise virtual emission absorption pairs. Our applicable superconductors, phases 3He. As an implementation we calculate pairing fluctuation attenuation zero sound 3He demonstrate quantitative agreement experimental results.

From Equilibrium to Transport Properties of Strongly Correlated Fermi Liquids

We summarize recent results regarding the equilibrium and non-equilibrium behavior of cold dilute atomic gases in the limit in which the two body scattering length a goes to infinity. In this limit the system is described by a Galilean invariant (non-relativistic) conformal field theory. We discuss the low energy effective lagrangian appropriate to the limit a → ∞, and compute low energy coeffi...

Non-Fermi liquids

Our present understanding of how the interactions between electrons affect the metallic state has, for forty years, rested on the foundations of Landau’s Fermi-liquid theory. It provides the basis for understanding metals in terms of weakly interacting electron (-like) particles. Recent years have seen the discovery of metals which appear to fall outside this framework—perhaps most notably in t...
